Youtube Originals joins forces with Studio Bagel and Golden Moustache. The two major groups have made two series available exclusively on the paid platform of Youtube. The trailers were released on September 6.
We introduced you to Youtube Originals a few months ago. This is Youtube's new paid service, allowing you to access original and exclusive content. However, the streaming platform will not only welcome American creators. French videographers arrive in force with two fiction series. Studio Bagel (Canal+) presents Groom, a series with Jérôme Niel in the title role, accompanied by Adrien Ménielle, Vincent Tirel, Julie Ferrier and even Marc Lavoine! Groom features William, the son of a wealthy hotel owner. William commits one stupidity too many. His father cut off his food supplies and forced him to work for the first time in his life. William becomes the hotel's new bellhop. He will have to submit to the desires of the customers, to the orders of the butler, to the fantasies of his colleagues… A rhythmic daily life! Groom consists of ten episodes, lasting 20 to 26 minutes.
New superheroes
Golden Moustache (Group M6) presents a totally different scenario. Directed by Valentin Vincent, Les Emmerdeurs is set in France during the Second World War. Four young people accidentally find themselves with superpowers. The French Resistance added them to its ranks in the hope of defeating the Nazis. Problem: these four deflated do not really want to get involved in this war. Les Emmerdeurs is also home to several well-known actors of Internet fiction. We find Justine Le Pottier, Julien Josselin, Sébastien Lalanne, Paul Scarfoglio, Camille Claris, Grégoire Montana… The number of episodes for the series Les emmerdeurs has not been specified. Both trailers show images, costumes and special effects of a higher quality than what is usually seen on Youtube. Both groups benefited from a larger creative budget from Youtube Originals. According to a French media, Groom obtained a production budget of 1 to 1.5 million euros.
We do not yet know the release dates of the two series. On the other hand, they will be screened in preview at the Grand Rex in Paris on September 18. Both series can be found on Youtube Originals. The subscription is €11.99 per month.
