The Strain, which has aired since 2014 on FX, is currently in the middle of its third season. But the creators decided that the next season would also be the last, not that the ratings are crumbling, but with a desire to finish their stories themselves.
Carlton Cuse, one of the creators, commented on the cancellation: " Once we started telling this story, it expanded.
