The synopsis is as follows: "Cora Tannetti, a fragile mother with no stories, spends an afternoon by a lake with her husband and their son when, suddenly, she stabs to death a complete stranger. Arrested, she admits her crime but does not explain it. Detective Harry Ambrose, in charge of the investigation, wants to understand what could have happened. He begins to delve into the young woman's past and takes us into Cora's tormented mind and memories, in search of the buried traumas that pushed her to commit the irreparable… "
