Fans of the Stranger Things series will unfortunately have to wait a few more months before watching the highly anticipated season 3. Netflix is indeed pushing it back to 2019, probably until the summer.
"They want to take the time to do it right"
The second season of Stranger Things will not know its sequel so quickly. If the filming of the eight episodes of this season 3 has just begun, the famous streaming platform is already anticipating delays on production and announces that it wants to postpone the broadcast date to the summer of 2019.
If this news may have a bitter taste for many fans, Cindy Holland, head of programs at Netflix, tries to console them: "I think it's going to be a sensational season that will be worth the wait." She assures that this new part will be better than the previous one, since according to her, the Duffer brothers, showrunners, as well as Shawn Levy, producer, understand that the stakes are very high and will implement the necessary means to delight the addicts of the series. But if the release of the show is postponed to the second half of 2019, it is because post-production is also involved: "The additions of special effects will be numerous and they want to take the time to do it well".
The third chapter of the adventures of Eleven and her companions should take place during the year 1985, in a setting inspired by old period films, according to teasers delivered recently.
But if the series is captured right now, Shawn Levy is already looking forward to the fourth season:
"I'd say we have a good idea of what's going to happen in Season 4. Because season 4 will take place, that's for sure. There is also a good chance that we will do another season after that, but that is still to be determined."
If the information concerning the fourth season is few, the Duffer Brothers ensure to have the great arcs of the season, even if they are always open to changes and surprises.
Season 3 of Stranger Things (one of the most anticipated on Netflix) will be released during the year 2019 and will officially know an extension to a fourth part thereafter.
