Vanessa Morgan, who plays the mysterious Toni Topaz, and Charles Melton, who plays sportsman Reggie Mantle in Riverdale season 2, have both been promoted to "recurring characters" for the new season.
A more than logical promotion for Vanessa Morgan
Having made a strong impression from her appearance alongside Jughead at the beginning of season 2, the superb Canadian actress and singer fully deserves her new place in the cast. His new relationship with the intriguing Cheryl, already named Choni for the intimates (contraction of Cheryl and Toni), arouses more and more interest from the spectators, and thus leaves no doubt as to the importance of this character for the rest of the story.
And Charles Melton in all this?
Although very appreciated and having perfectly managed to appropriate the role of Reggie, who was played by Ross Butler in season 1, we wonder what place Charles Melton will have in the new plots to come. Indeed, Reggie has been little present on screen during the two previous seasons, but he still imposes himself more and more at Riverdale High, including against the intrepid Archie Andrews.
Some answers may be given in the last two episodes of season 2, which are released on May 9 and 16 in the United States on The CW.
