It is clear that Álex Pina and Álvaro Morte (our dear and attractive teacher) mentioned in the same project, make you want to take a look, even if reluctant to El embarcadero. Why reluctant? Because after this worldwide success that was La casa de papel, we would tend to immediately embark on a new production with the hope that the director has again been touched by grace. So a series created with the arrogant certainty that it will be exported all over the world, gives as a result an amalgam of subjects, songs, landscapes and messages grafted into a staggering and soulless thread that wants to be… A thriller?

Impressions

El embarcadero La Jetée, the Spanish series that nobody talks about It's impossible not to think of Almodóvar and his ability to add the right song at exactly the right time. He caresses the Spain that I love so much and transmits to us this feeling of being part of the scenery. Or Wan kar-wai who always knew how to very skilfully take us to the city of Hong Kong, overwhelming us in an atmosphere very specific to his style. If one of Álex Pina's goals was to convey the essence of Spain, it failed, because the only thing we end up believing is that sex in Spain is nonsense. In the case of 'La Jetée', we will not be touched by the landscapes, the sea, the village or even less by the characters. And even though the songs are beautiful, they are very calculated, like a kind of sticker in the middle of the wallpaper. This desire to give a feeling of freedom, is aborted and replaced by all these scenes of sensuality honey sauce and all this sex to excess. It seems that since The 50 Shades of Grey, we are trying to do so much more that we wonder what the next step will be! No intention to play the prudes but it is that, unfortunately, the plot flounders and has a lot of trouble getting its nose out of the water in the middle of all this hodgepodge. 4002941 La Jetée, the Spanish series that nobody talks about This same plot, carried on the shoulders of the character of a Álvaro Morte, who wanders off everywhere the small spaces that the script has kindly granted him, is ultimately only illusion. Too bad, his talent has not been highlighted at all but rather flouted. The characters who gravitate around this axis fled under thousands of layers, take up too much space. Their unbelievable personality fails to save the presence of the script. Looking at the end of the very last episode, there is only one sentence that will come to mind: All this for that…
