True Story is a series of 6 episodes that you can enjoy from June 26 on Amazon Prime Video. We find six French youtubers well known to the general public. Anecdote, laughter, lookouts… Good vibes for a series full of pep.
YouTubers + an original concept = True Story
Six of the most famous YouTubers in France have come together around an original concept for the True Story series. The cast includes Ludovik, Cyprien, Norman, the only female figure Natoo as well as McFly and Carlito. The concept is simple, that's what makes its charm. Well-known guests tell us anecdotes, often hilarious especially in the way they present them to us. They are indeed accompanied by actors recreating the funniest moments. The actors in question are almost guest lookalikes, which makes the scene even more realistic and funny. The anecdotes are necessarily unpublished and the guests "swear to tell the truth, the whole truth, nothing but the truth". The animators are therefore the YouTubers and are divided into three duos: Mcfly and Carlito of course, Ludovik and Natoo and finally the duo of Youtubers being among the most followed in France: Norman and Cyprien. The décor is uncluttered. They are in an enclosed area, a large white dome and red armchairs, which immediately remind us of American TV shows. As for the guests, they are diverse and varied. Their stories are all as crazy as each other.
An entertaining series… And funny!
Jonathan Cohen is the first guest to tell us his story. We know him in particular for his famous role of Serge le Mytho, an expert in lies. Fortunately, it is indeed a true story that the actor is about to tell us. Without spoiling you, we can already announce that this is one of the most hilarious episodes of all. Jonathan is a fan of humor and an expert at storytelling. That's probably why we were completely embroiled in his. The anecdote itself is epic. Let's not go into too much detail to leave you an ounce of surprise, but note that he met Mel Gibson. In the flesh, bone and underpants ! Yes, yes, you read that right. To find out how all this happened, feel free to binge-watch the series from June 26. You will also discover brother and sister Olivier and Géraldine Nakache, they share with us on the set the worst evening of their lives.
A friendly moment
This series is so well put together that we almost feel like we're getting into it. To just be around a table with our friends who tell us stories. Youtubers still have a very secondary place. Even if some appear in the reconstructions of the stories, they are put in the background. A point a little disappointing since they are really highlighted in the presentation of the series. The only time we see them alone is at the beginning of the episode when they introduce us to the guest-star. They are then a little erased behind the guests. Well, it is true, we quibble a little. The series is overall successful and allows us to escape into the lives of the stars for a few moments. This is an essential point. When we devour the episodes, we enter intimately into a small part of their lives. Not always the most glorious, as for the Nakache. We can then identify with them. The bet is kept, the True Story series has convinced us. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1GJW9SJzQM0
