Announced by Netflix this summer, and eagerly awaited by fans of Marvel series, the Daredevil series has made a very punchy and successful return! Let's decipher this third season together!

Matt Murdock in a dirty state

TheDefenders finale 1 Review "Daredevil" Season 3 (Netflix): the best of three seasons

Remember, we left Matt in a more than critical state. And we unfortunately found him in the same state, at death's door, after taking an entire building on his head. A true survivor who takes the blows like his dad! A new setting has taken place in this new season, we find Matt in the orphanage where he grew up, surrounded among other things by nuns and a priest that Matt knows well. Truth be told, we really thought Matt would make it. Therefore, the whole beginning of this season was focused on faith in God, and Matt's healing. Maybe a little too much. The time of his recovery seemed a bit long. But it did bring a new character into Matt's life, Sister Maggie, who turned out to be his mother. An interesting, if predictable plot. Matt eventually recovers, and fortunately because he has many enemies to fight.

Wilson Fisk and FBI corruption

For a short while, we believed it, really! Fisk, madly in love with Vanessa, seemed genuinely ready to help the FBI, to become a model prisoner although in his penthouse. He almost hurt us at one point. But rest assured, it only lasted a second! What this third season highlights is corruption. Daredevil is the Marvel series that reminds you that everything and everyone has a price. The corruption of the FBI and the entire justice system is chilling. This season will probably put you in an incredible state of anger, because Fisk really seems untouchable in this season, even more so than in the old one. You'll even think, like Matt, that only death can stop him. Matt ends up sparing Fisk, however, again. He keeps his humanity but we remain hungry. Although Fisk promised to keep him checked in exchange for Vanessa's freedom, it's hard to believe. He is evil, and is certainly already preparing his revenge.

Daredevil versus himself

But Fisk is not, in this season, the enemy that Matt faces physically. He must face a corrupt FBI agent, Dex, who, on Fisk's orders, wears the Daredevil costume and impersonates him. Daredevil confronts Daredevil. This is quite disturbing, we must also recognize that Dex is very agile, fast and strong. He easily chaos Matt, while he is powerful. It's a pretty strong mise en abyme, Matt is fighting against himself. Matt has to deal with the Daredevil he created, what he stands for, and what he never wanted to become. Remember that Matt never killed anyone, while Dex was quick to do so. He eventually defeats him, but not without injury. We can imagine that Matt will not be taking over the costume of the demon from Hell's Kitchen anytime soon.

The best of the three seasons?

Let it be said, this season was the best of the three. The episodes and the entire season go by at breakneck speed, and are incredibly gripping. Overall, the plots are strong and captivating. If you start this third season you will be captivated to the point of binge-watching. Matt seems stronger, although very indecisive and worried. Although Fisk saw a strong enemy, Dex was truly a captivating enemy, with real stakes. He pushed Matt to the core. Moreover, the end of the episode announces the transformation of Dex into Blue Eyes. If a season 4 is announced, Matt will certainly face Blue Eyes

Now we just have to hope that Daredevil will not be canceled like Luke Cage and Iron Fist! Season 3 is still available on Netflix, and you can watch the trailer to make you want right now!
