Tonight at 9:05 p.m., TF1 broadcasts the first two episodes of Un homme d'honneur, an adaptation of the American version, Your honor. The series is directed by Julieus Berge and at Just focus we give you our feeling on the first episode. The series follows the life of a judge, Richard Altman, an upright man respected by his profession. His life is turned upside down, when his son, Lucas, hits a biker and runs away. The judge wants his son to denounce himself, but he discovers that the biker knocked down, is the son of a powerful mafioso he had put in prison. Richard Altman is willing to do anything to protect his son, to the point of denying his values and even entering a dark world.

A promising series

The series, A Man of Honor, is an adaptation of the Israeli series, Kvodo, which is available in American version on Canal+. From the beginning of the series, we are swept up in a sober and effective thriller. There is no time to lose, and the central plot is directly put on the table. The story becomes more complex when the protagonist, Judge Altman, is faced with a case that affects him personally. The viewer does not have time to get bored, everything follows very quickly, without omitting important details.

Successful bet for Kad Merah and TF1

Again, Kad Merah is excellent in his acting, as in Baron noir. Depardieu is not very present in this first episode, but his presence is enough to show his importance. We can feel that Kad Merah and Depardieu will be the two central men in this series. Two men who oppose everything, but who are ready to do anything to protect their offspring. The first episode makes us want to know more about people, about their history. The actors and actresses around the protagonists reveal a sober but impactful cast. Whether Zabou Breitman as a police captain or Eye Haïdara as a young lawyer ready to do anything to win these cases, the viewer is amazed. Even the topics discussed around, such as justice, allow to have a pragmatic idea of the situation. For now everything is flying, exactly what is needed for a first episode. But from the first episode, the tension is palpable. We know that history will be fraught with pitfalls. We are swept up in the plot. This first episode makes you want to see the rest of the events, especially with the central plot but there are many questions suspended. We believe that the situation is under control, but very quickly, reality catches up with us. Between drug trafficking, corruption, clan war, revenge, the series A Man of Honor is promising. At Just Focus, we can't wait to see the rest every Monday on TF1 at 21:05.
