The release date of Paramout Network's new series, Heathers, adapted from the film released in the late 80s, has finally been announced.

While a date was to be communicated last February, then canceled after the shooting that hit one of the high schools in Parkland (Florida), we now know that Heathers will be released on July 10.

It is on the Instagram account of the series that the news was communicated.

Translated by Fatal Games when it aired in France in 1989, the film Heathers inspired this new series that tells the daily life of a high school run by three girls, all named Heather. In the 2018 version, the group of teenage girls is played by two actresses and an actor representing the diversity of bodies and sexual orientations. A plus-size teenager (Melanie Field) and a gender-queer (Brendan Scannell) are among the main characters. One of the high school students, Veronica Sawyer (played by Grace Victoria Cox, Under the Dome), decides not to let it happen anymore and is helped by her friend J.D (James Scully, Quantico).

Present in the original cast of the film, Shannen Doherty joins the team of the series and makes an appearance as Selma Blair. A nice nod to the original work.
