Since September, Marvel has been omnipresent. We come out of a film that we follow on a series on the Disney + platform. This week saw the release of the brand new series dealing with the story of one of the original 6 Avengers: Hawkeye. Starring Jeremy Renner, it is the first Marvel production to focus on the hero as the main character. So we find our favorite archer, for a show very different from what we have seen since WandaVision.
Hawkeye or Ronin?
Clint Barton had his dark period. When Thanos erased half the universe in a snap of his fingers, some Avengers took different paths during the five years of emptiness. Hawkeye then became Ronin, a samurai killing organizations doing evil, to summarize briefly. He then swaps his bow and arrows for a katana, a Japanese sword, and finds himself a new costume. But Natasha Romanoff managed to give him hope, and resume his role as Hawkeye to save humanity, half of which was "snapped" with a snap of his fingers by Thanos. Clint's dark past catches up with him at the beginning of the show. His crimes committed as Ronin make anyone, wearing his famous costume, a target to be shot. 
Meet Kate Bishop
If you have a good memory, in the Black Widow movie, released in theaters a few months ago, a new character was introduced: Yelena, Natasha's sister. In this new production, it is the character of Kate Bishop that we will discover. Present in New York during the events of 2012, (Loki who wants to take over the earth remember?) she is a child and discovers the Avengers under the debris, who will save the city. It is then our Clint that Kate sees jumping from a building with her bow and arrows only. Following this event, our new character loses one of his relatives. She decides to protect her family and arm herself with a bow, arrows and train to become what her new favorite hero embodies: Hawkeye. A man without power, fighting alongside a super soldier and even a god. Growing up, Kate gained experience, while keeping her strong character. Very endearing, Hailee Steinfeld perfectly embodies her character, quite close to the one she was able to interpret in the film Pitch Perfect 2. Funny, awkward, even annoying, so much she manages to get into trouble easily, Kate Bishop is a character that you will learn to love as the episodes progress. 
Finally, what do we think?
Hawkeye is making a good start to the Christmas holidays. Dynamic, we find ourselves more easily in the Marvel universe than with the Wanda Vision series. Better than its predecessor Loki, the archer's series still has scenes that tend to be ridiculous. Putting Hawkeye in a life-size role-playing game is perhaps a little too much for a hero who fought Thanos. Apart from this quick moment, Hawkeye is one of the best series that Marvel has offered us to date. It is easy to find with endearing characters and a less monotonous atmosphere than what Falcon and The Winter Soldier could offer us for example. A mysterious character who will be introduced to us in the upcoming episodes, which will be Echo. We don't know anything about her, but we have no doubt that her character will be developed in future episodes. Finally, we do not forget Yelena Belova, played by Florence Pugh , who wants to kill Clint, thinking to avenge the death of Sister Natasha, known as Black Widow. A meeting that may be more than interesting between Kate and Yelena that we are looking forward to! So, do you think Clint Barton will arrive home in time to celebrate Christmas with his family?
