The year 2018 will be long and full of spoilers…
We feared it in June and the news was confirmed yesterday: the Game of Thrones series will not return to HBO until 2019. No precise date has been revealed, and at this stage of production it is still difficult to predict even an approximate period.
Indeed, actor Liam Cunningham (Sir Davos in the series) had already told TVLine last October that the filming of season 8 should last until the end of summer 2018 : with all the necessary work in post-production, it seemed unlikely to be able to discover the final season of Game of Thrones before the end of the year… In December, Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark in the series) also told Variety magazine that she had between six and seven months left to shoot the series.
As a reminder, this eighth and final season of Game of Thrones will consist of only six episodes, which will however have a much longer duration than for previous seasons.
Let's stay patient, more than a year before we can find season 8 of Game of Thrones in 2019! In the meantime, rediscover below the trailer of season 7 released this summer.
