Game of Thrones: the highlights of season 6

History to recover from the grandiose finale of season 6 of Game of Thrones, just as great overall, we invite you to return to its great moments, the season reverberating decisive events in the development of the mythology of the series.

Melisandre is old: This sequence shocked many, and sounds like a thumb of the nose to those who rinsed their eyes on the beautiful naked body of Melisandre (ultra-sexualized character, by the way), who reveals her true appearance after removing her necklace, which would therefore ensure her eternal youth (?) … Too bad the question did not find an answer in the rest of the season.

Jon Snow is resurrected: impossible to miss the awakening of Jon Snow, which some no longer hoped for after the tragic finale of last year which saw our hero die under the blows of his comrades in arms. This is without counting on Melisandre and her God of Light; In any case, our favorite bastard imposes himself from that moment on as a messianic elected official with a role that goes beyond him but has probably just begun.

Daenerys sets the fire: literally, it's up to Dany to show that she still has resources when we thought she was lost. Standing up to the Dothraki Khals who were minimizing her power, Daenerys burns them alive. After all, she is the Mother of Dragons, and her reign has just begun. Moral of the story: she is the queen of the show, so do not look for noise.

The Bloodhound is back: while we thought he was dead since the end of season 4, The Bloodhound reappears unexpectedly, more or less integrated into a pacifist community with an epicurean philosophy a bit improbable, in any case short-lived.

Sansa and Jon meet: Finally! Could the Stark siblings, scattered in Westeros since season 1, be definitively reunited? This is what the reunion of Sansa and Jon, the first to see each other, suggests, who find themselves in a moving scene (let it be said clearly, which makes you cry).

Hold The Door! : One of the most surprising revelations of this season: the origin of Hodor's nickname. Not only can Bran travel through time, but he can also alter the past, and thus alter the future (leaving the field open to some theories that he is at the origin of all the misfortunes of the series). Just see how he could turn Hodor's life upside down.

Arya Stark is back: Finally (again)! We wondered if she would really complete her apprenticeship with the Faceless, which allowed her to hide for a moment her few traumas. But Arya is back, and she returns home, with a consequent knowledge for her future (we will come back to that). This season is the Starks' season.

Daenerys sets fire (second round): Decidedly. While the Masters want to regain control over their subjects and slaves after Daenerys' untimely arrival in Meereen, the latter is not about to give them what she fought for. To do this, an effective way: she sends her dragons to burn part of their fleet and seizes the rest after the desertion of their army. Enjoyable.

The Starks retake Winterfell: THE big moment of the season (and one of the best of the series). Epic, the long battle sequence between the army of Ramsay Bolton and that of Jon Snow ends with a victory of the Starks, who finally take back their due! Especially thanks to Sansa, who saves her allies from certain death in extremis and imposes herself as the great heroine of the season by finally making a breach to the top. The episode is also the best of the season.

Daenerys allies with the Greyjoys: This alliance marks the beginning of the end of Daenerys' quest as she confronts for the first time another house in Westeros (besides Tyrion). Yara and (Theon) come to make a deal, in terms, my faith, largely ambiguous (in other words, there is flirtation in the air) that they will support Daenerys in her conquest of the throne if she promises them that Yara can rule the Iron Islands. Girl Power! This symbolic sequence proves that women are the future of the series, and of Westeros.

Cersei sets fire (and seizes the throne): the introduction of the episode is an example of mastery. While Turion reveals that the Mad King had hidden Greek fire everywhere under King's Landing in case of mutiny, Cersei uses it in the next episode to put an end to the fanatical tyranny of the High Sparrow who was to attend his trial alongside many others, including the already late Margery who dies at the same time in the explosion… which will cause Tommen's suicide, and thus the ascension to the throne of his mother, more terrifying than ever.

Jon Snow is a Targaryen: One of the most important theories of fans is finally confirmed: Jon Snow is indeed a Targaryen. And Bran is the first to find out. Son of Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen, Jon is actually the nephew of Ned Stark but also that of Daenerys, making them the last two living Targeryen (unless the theory about Tyrion is confirmed in turn, but it promises to be more difficult).

Daenerys rushes to King's Landing: Finally, the last sequence of the season is absolutely epic. Daenerys sets sail on Westeros, more powerful than ever, after five seasons of waiting. One of the most anticipated moments of the series is finally happening, and it promises.
