Episode 3 of Falcon and the Winter Soldier is available on Disney+. The new series of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is quietly following its course, without leaving the usual shackles of the genre. The show indeed takes routes well known to aficionados of the Marvel universe.

Falcon and the Winter Soldier: Baron Zemo reveals himself

Another normal episode under the sun of the MCU. Malcolm Spellman chooses a smooth route for Falcon and the Winter Soldier. The show offers very little risk-taking and remains on the marked roads of the Marvel universe. The showrunner stages relatively controlled action sequences, but does not take the time to develop deeply enough his sets, and his secondary characters. Falcon and the Winter Soldier Episode 3: The Return of Baron Zemo The sequences, the places, the situations are linked at an impressive speed, not leaving the spectators the leisure to appreciate what is proposed. Striking example in this last episode when the protagonists land on Madripoor. This fictional city of the Marvel universe is barely touched upon, and its treatment is only on the surface. However, there was a real visual identity to develop in this setting new in the MCU. Another example with Sharon Carter, who comes to say hello too quickly in this new chapter. In short, you will understand, Falcon and the Winter Soldier suffers from the same problems as the rest of the MCU : a lack of depth, a treatment too jerky, and an approach too on the surface to totally convince.

Baron Zemo is in the square

And it's still quite strange to see that despite a 50-minute format, Falcon and the Winter Soldier moves at a frantic speed, not allowing viewers to take their time more. And it's also quite contradictory when you consider that WandaVision was only 30 minutes long per episode. Another rather strange choice on the part of Disney. Falcon and the Winter Soldier Episode 3: The Return of Baron Zemo But this third episode nevertheless has a strong point: Baron Zemo. Daniel Brühl is back in the shoes of the great villain of the Captain America universe. The actor once again offers an impeccable interpretation, and embodies a solid villain, in quest, perhaps, for a new redemption. But comic book readers strongly suspect that Baron Zemo is certainly preparing a bad move, and that our superhero duo should remain on guard. As usual, Falcon and the Winter Soldier concludes with an interesting final twist, and a major cameo with the return of an iconic character from the Black Panther universe. https://youtu.be/X_mSpyPVVzk
