End Clap. The American network CBS has decided not to renew the medical drama Code Black for a season 4.
While fans learned yesterday on Twitter via the account of showrunner Michael Seitzman, CBS has just confirmed the news that many saw coming: season 3 of Code Black, currently being broadcast across the Atlantic will be the last of the medical series.
Unfortunately for the series, most of the signals were red. The network's decision to postpone the launch of season 3 towards the end of the season showed that it no longer really believed in it. If the current audiences of Code Black are around 5 million viewers, they still represent a 30% drop between season 2 and season 3. This fall may have weighed in the choice not to renew it.
As a reminder, Code Black follows the most hectic daily emergency room in the United States. Faced with a broken system, doctors try to protect their ideals by respecting those who need them most: patients. Leanne Rorish, a force of Nature, is in charge of four residents who are making their debut in the service.
