Television legend Bill Cosby was found guilty on all three counts in his retrial for sexual assault. The 80-year-old actor is now facing 10 years in prison.
The Cosby Show star has been accused of assaulting more than 60 women. In addition, he was accused of drugging and sexually assaulting Andrea Constand in his Philadelphia home in 2004. Cosby's defense argued that the meeting with Constand was consensual, but the actor refused to testify on his own behalf.
An earlier attempt to prosecute Cosby ended in a trial last June. Indeed, the jury had failed to reach a verdict.At the time, the local prosecutor's office promised to try the case again. Constand also sued Cosby in civil court in 2005, receiving an undisclosed cash settlement the following year.
However, no sentencing date has been set and an appeal is awaited. Cosby was released on bail while awaiting sentencing.Each of the three charges carries a 10-year prison sentence, but the judge would likely allow Cosby to serve them simultaneously, for a total of 10 years.
