A story at the forefront of lyricism
Siam: Au Fil de l'eau is probably the cultural outing we wanted to see, during this curfew period and this grey October. This tale follows the story of Siam, a young Vietnamese woman living in the mid-70s in the Mekong region. Unfortunately, the absence of her biological father makes her suffer. According to his mother, this famous absent father would be American. So she is determined to pick him up in San Francisco, where an incredible musical will come to life. This melodious adventure is the result of a collaboration between Flammarion Jeunesse and the classical group "Ensemble Contrast".The author is none other than Arnaud Thorette, an outstanding viola/violin musician who has won five international awards. Composer of about thirty albums and named revelation Classica in 2006, he will be accompanied by the pianist with golden hands, Johan Farjot, artistic director of the group "Ensemble Contrast". For the illustration, Olivier Latyk is in charge. He had already been the illustrator of the book Le buveur d'encre published in 2011 by Nathan editions. Olivier Latyk studied at the Arts Décoratifs in Strasbourg and was assistant to Claude Lapointe. Suffice to say that this book will be well served by this very nice trio.
