Until February 25, 2018, the Belfry of Montrouge hosts for the 14thtime, the international textile art exhibition Miniartextil, whose theme this year is "Borderline". The least we can say is that the margins, borders and borders of these fiber-rich works are multiple and offer many interpretations.
The thread of all audacity
There are 54 works of all types, sizes and origins, which illustrate a wide variety of techniques and know-how around the thread. This yarn can be natural, synthetic, or even downright plastic. The field of uses is very vast and sometimes a little Bordeline. Some works are very worked, others seem simpler in their use of fibers. Weaving, embroidery, tapestry, braiding, knots, gluing are all ways to work the fiber.
The thread, both support and border, becomes significant by its shape, its color or its location.
Borderline
This year's topic, Borderline, is very broad and at the same time very topical. The border, whether political, symbolic, moral or dreamlike, is a call to change perception, to get out of one's own comfort zone, to go beyond one's limits. Here, some works have a political significance, others transport us into a dream, others are still at the limit of aesthetics.
A grand prize was awarded to Gertraud Enzinger for his work Both sides now.
With this new edition of miniartextile, we see once again that Art abolishes borders, whether administrative, cultural, creative or perceptive.
