The famous Lille show, which opens the fashion festivities of the weekend, has once again managed to seduce connoisseurs and curious people who come to discover the new designers of the region.

As we announced some time ago, it is this weekend that the 48H Maisons de Mode take place. The event, honouring designers from the Hauts-de-France region, begins with a fashion show where young fashion hopefuls present their new collections to the public and professionals.

It is therefore in the heart of the Gare Saint-Sauveur, a mecca of Lille culture, that we were able to attend the 2016 edition of the parade. Far from the austerity that fashion shows can sometimes exude, that of Maisons de Mode was at least as warm and playful as the people of the North! Between elaborate choreographies, neat videos, and models with mutinous poses, the creators of the region offered a more than respectable show.

Regarding the clothes and accessories offered, we were able to discover some nice surprises. Indeed, the strength of Maisons de Mode designers lies in the freedom offered by the Lille-Roubaix collective. The collections of Sainte Courtisane, Uma Oath, Ohiri or CUVH, among others, exude the dynamism of youth, the eccentricity of artists and Lille irreverence.

At the end of the event, some of the designers were rewarded by various professionals in the field, such as the Who's Next collective, Printemps or the Fédération du Prêt à Porter. The lucky winners were therefore able to obtain new opportunities to gain even greater visibility in the fashion world.

For my part, I attribute my personal favorites to Constance L. and the outfits of Saint Courtisan. The hippie/refined inspirations of the first, and the seventies lines of the second fit perfectly into the trends of this end of the year.

For latecomers, you can still meet the creators, attend the sale and DIY workshops organized throughout the weekend at the Gare Saint Sauveur in Lille. The opportunity to leave with beautiful pieces made in Les Hauts-de-France!
