In a dream setting, between the iconic bottles, the question that arises is that of the feminine essence of creation. Indeed, why do we talk about women artists when we never talk about male artists ?Why give a genre to art? The exhibition opens with the quote from Aragon "Woman is the future of man". This subject is at the heart of the book Femmes artistes/Artistes femmes, Paris de 1880 à nos jours by Catherine Gonnard and Elisabeth Lebovici published ten years ago.

Already this year, the Museum of Decorative Arts in Paris had devoted an exhibition Works of Ladies to this subject. A few weeks ago, the photography exhibition Women as seen by women: Revelation ended from June 23 to August 27, 2017 by Jean-Luc Monterosso, director of the Maison Européenne de la Photographie. Caroline Massensee, the curator of the exhibition And God Created Woman , takes up this subject with the complicity of prestigious galleries and art centers. The choice of these artists is not trivial, all of them have, in their own way, questioned stereotypes and societal clichés to find their place as artists in their own right.

An unmissable exhibition if you go through the Champs Elysées, and, as it is free, you will have no excuse. For more information on the exhibition And God Created Woman.
