The first volume of the comic, Electric Widows, was released on May 19, 2021, a boon for fans of novelties. It is relevant by the subjects addressed in it, but also by its style that brings a new horizon to French comics. The idea of the comic is simple: after a terrible accident in a nuclear power plant, killing three men, their widows decide to do everything to close it. The accident did not come alone, the boss was aware of the fact that his plant was a danger to these employees, and to the city. 
A comic strip about serious topics
The first volume begins with the dangers of nuclear power as a starting point. However, this subject is quickly exhausted and Relom, the writer of the comic, will add other news items present in our society to keep the reader. The second topic addressed is police violence. The three heroines make a demonstration in front of the town hall of their city, which degenerates quite quickly because of a misunderstanding. The president of the France, our dear Emmanuel Macron, is not excluded from the comic. From the first volume, he is gently mocked about his young age and his decisions. 
A remarkable comic
Relom, known as a cartoonist for the Traquemage series, focuses here on portraying a critique of our society. Humor is a rather difficult field, however, the result is well done. After two, three pages, the reader knows what to expect. The drawings of Damien Geffroy are very worked, the style is quite interesting. Colors bring an interesting genre to comics. In addition, it adds a great interest to the comic. It will be necessary to have on the length, because the topics addressed are not the simplest. The screenwriter will have to find a tone, so that the reader does not get tired. However, volume 1, Electric Widows is really worth seeing.
