While we are impatiently waiting for the release of the new movie Spider-Man: Homecoming, scheduled in France for July 12, 2017, it seems that Sony is also working on a new film, animated this time. It would feature Miles Morales, a young mixed-race man who wears the costume of the spider man.

With the new film coming on July 12, 2017, we could have thought of an animated expansion on the new Peter Parker. It's not yet, but Sony is currently working with Chris Miller and Phil Lord (22 Jump Street), on a new animated movie starring Spider-Man.

Originality will you tell me? It seems that this new project features the character of Miles Morales!

Miles Morales is a fictional character created by writer Brian Michael Bendis and artist Sara Pichelli. He first appeared in the comic book Ultimate Comics: Fallout #4 in August 2011. This mixed-race New Yorker has Latino and African origins. This is the second Spider-Man used in the Ultimate Marvel comic book line that features an alternate reality in which Peter Parker/Spider-Man was killed by the Green Goblin.

Indeed, we learn by a casting call that Sony has launched the project under the code name Cabin Fever in order to find the two main characters, named Terrence and Pete. These code names linked to a description, introduce us to a young African-American of Puerto Rican origin living in Brooklyn, and having to deal with new responsibilities as he enters adolescence. This character makes us think irremediably of Miles Morales, as well as one of his closest friends. We immediately think of Ganke Lee, Miles' friend in the comics.

Other information, an animated series would also be in development, still with the character of Miles Morales, and especially Spider-Gwen! Gwen Stacy becomes a superhero in an alternate reality when she is bitten by a radioactive spider. She becomes a superhero under the name of Spider-Woman!

We will be sure to keep you informed of the news of these projects. It is nice to see that Sony is not satisfied with the character of Peter Parker but also draws its inspiration from the many existing comics!
