The Marsupilamus Franquini, in reference to the name of the author, returns for a new adventure entitled Palombie Secrète, in bookstores since Friday, April 21. Published by Dupuis, this new history of the marsipulami offers a return to the roots, to the origins of the emblematic character of French-speaking popularculture.
Origins revealed
Batem and Colman, in the manner of big Marvel and DC productions, decide to go back to the roots and reveal the origins of the spotted creature imagined by the legendary cartoonist, Franquin. Through the establishment of an ancestral legend, the creative team presents the evolution of this species over the ages and reveals a multitude of Marsupilami races around the world. These different branches of the species must come together to crown the newborns, under the aegis of the dean, several centuries old.
The authors offer an interesting prism in attempting to renew the mythology of the Marsupilami. The other protagonists appear little, the hunter makes, for example, only a short cameo. The story focuses mainly on the Marsupilami in its broad foundation, in a quest for eternal beginning, in a quest for memory and discovery.
A first-rate ecological discourse for young readers
The artists never neglect the main moral of his comic: respect for others, differences and especially nature. With its very ecological discourse, the Marsupilami, is able to sensitize the youngest to a very real problem, which our current society regularly tries to sweep under the carpet. Thanks to this Secret Palombia, a fictional country in the heart of the Amazon, the authors offer stunning settings, populated by a multitude of diverse and varied species, allowing to stage a wild and preserved nature.
