Here is the continuation of the new investigation of the heroes of Stieg Larsson, served by a screenwriter more "Larsson-nian" than ever: Sylvain Runberg. The dive is vertiginous and the subject precise. Digital espionage and the rise of political radicalism.
Here is an album that is placed in a universe already well defined and the rules imposed by the creator of this cosmogony that is MILLENIUM.
This creator is Steig Larsson and the founding elements of this cosmogony are the heroes of this series first declined in successful novel, then in audiovisual version ranging from Sweden to the States through David Fincher and his "the girl with the Dragon Tatoo" adaptation of the first volume of the series.
The previous and Swedish version had gone to the end of the three volumes of the work of Steig who will die in 2004 well before the success and even the publication of what will remain his masterpiece.
However, he will release a fourth and then a fifth volume of his series (the last in 2017 "the girl who made blow for blow" at Actes sud), novel this time written by David Lagercrantz authorized by Steig's rights holders.

But this saga MILLENIUM here in comics at Dupuis: it is an original and unpublished story, written by certainly one of the most Swedish of French screenwriters. Sylvain Runberg knows the case well since he was the one who adapted the trilogy into a comic book (always for Dupuis). He obtained, O supreme grail, the right by the Larsson family to write this unpublished continuation of the adventures of Lisbeth Salander and Mikaël Blomkvist but especially of the newspaper that is MILLENIUM.
In the first opus of this saga that will count 3, " cold souls" events that seemed unrelated come to upset the lives of Lisbeth and Mickaël. For one, it is a violent attack by a small group named "Sparta" against his group of hackers and the kidnapping of one of his friends. For the other, it is an investigation into the arrival of the far right at the gates of power and the integrity of its newspaper.
"The shock duo will soon take the measure of the ties that unite their respective businesses… To the point of revealing dark machinations."
And it is true that one of the narrative springs dear to Steig Larsson was this special relationship between the two main protagonists.
Here we are once again propelled into the streets of Stockholm. A real plunge into a sinister and implacable reality so close to ours that it is confounding similarity and therefore despair.

Themes that the news, unfortunately, sends us continuously on our news feeds: the rise of political radicalism or digital espionage with sprawling ramifications and consequences on a global scale.
Moreover, one of the protagonists drawn by Sylvain Runberg is inspired by Steeve Bannon (first adviser to President Trump)… When fiction questions us directly about our reality: beautiful work.
