Supermassive Games does not abandon the horror genre but above all it continues to meticulously choose its stars. In The Dark Pictures – Little Hope, the title published by Sony will feature actor Will Poulter facing the strange fog of a mysterious city. Focus!  Impossible to miss Until Dawn, the horror work released in 2015 on PS4. With the success of the title, Supermassive Games played on what made it successful without ever matching it. In 2018 came out Man of Medan, the first episode of the series The Dark Pictures, which was very criticizable. Little Hope is announced as the next episode and the developers have decided to have Will Poulter in the cast.

Will Poulter emerges from the fog:

It is in the press release of the development studio and in the first images unveiled that the actor is mentioned. The star of Midsommar (Ari Aster) and Black Mirror Bandersnatch will appear in a video game for the first time.

In the small town of Little Hope, abandoned and alone, four students and their teacher are trapped by a mysterious fog. They desperately search for a way to escape, while visions from the city's occult past haunt them. To stay alive, they must uncover the mysteries behind these dark apparitions before the forces of evil drag each of their souls into hell! Players can choose from five protagonists of this all-new cast, one of them being represented by actor Will Poulter.Just like the first game, Man of Medan, Little Hope is designed to be replayable many times thanks to its multiple plots, paths and endings. Every decision will matter and can have repercussions on the survivors or their disappearance! (Press release of 14 April 2020)

Terror and Actor!

This is not at all the first time that Supermassive Games has taken a star for its video-game works. It's even a trademark of the studio. A tribute to the slasher, Until Dawn starred Rami Malek (Bohemian Rhapsody) and Hayden Panettiere (Heroes) in the title roles. The thriller Hidden Agenda featured Katie Cassidy (Arrow). Finally, the first episode of the series entitled Man of Medan featured Shawn Ashmore (X-Men) in its cast. It should also be noted that Pip Torrens (The Crown) will reprise his role as the curator who served as narrator in the first episode.

Once again, it is Pip Torrens who embodies the conservative, omniscient character throughout the series. He returns to assist players in their progress, giving them, if they wish, a "hint" from time to time.

Let's just hope that in this story strangely (a little) reminiscent of Silent Hill, the developers will have managed to correct all the defects of Man of Medan to offer a real novelty to the players… or horror movie fans! Scheduled for release this summer, the game is designed to be played in any order with its predecessor, being both unrelated anthology episodes.
