It's been a little over a year since A Plague Tale: Innocence was acclaimed by critics and players alike. At the beginning of July 2020, the French hit has exceeded one million copies sold worldwide. Players were there to follow the journey of Amicia and Hugo. The game's official Twitter account relayed the news with great enthusiasm. A well-deserved success for this little nugget of Bordeaux origin. https://twitter.com/APlagueTale/status/1278276197441560576?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1278276197441560576%7Ctwgr%5E&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.jeuxvideo.com%2Fnews%2F1249359%2Fa-plague-tale-innocence-vendu-a-plus-d-un-million-d-exemplaires-dans-le-monde.htm
"We're thrilled to announce that A Plague Tale: Innocence has sold over one million copies worldwide! This wouldn't have been possible without our community and we want to thank each and every one of you for supporting the game and Asobo Studio!"
This story of survival in an Inquisition invaded by rats is not yet its first victory. Indeed, in addition to being part of the millionaire titles, the game was one of the big winners of the Pegasus ceremony. He was also nominated for The Game Awards 2019 against strong competitors (Sekiro Shadows Die Twice and Death Stranding for example).
"Crossing the symbolic milestone of one million copies is a clear proof of the know-how of the Asobo and Focus teams. It was a real pleasure to work with all the teams and we are proud to be able to continue our collaboration with them on an extremely ambitious project. This excellent result reinforces our desire to continue working with talented partners to bring more innovative productions to the market."
Note that the Playstation Blog awards it the title of best indie game 2019.
Focus Home Interactive recovers Deck13!
While A Plague Tale shines, publisher Focus Home Interactive has just acquired the Deck13 studio. For more precision, these are the developers of The Surge, the robotic "Soulborne"! A joy shared by Jan Klose, director of the studio.
"I am delighted to announce that Deck13 is now part of Focus Home Interactive. Our groups have worked successfully since 2015 to develop award-winning brands like The Surge. We look forward to benefiting from Focus Home Interactive's incredible ability to develop new successes. We are currently working on the development of a new franchise that we look forward to unveiling."
Now that A Plague Tale has proven itself? Can we finally hope for the promise of a potential sequel? In the meantime, we recommend you discover the game if you still haven't!
