For Gamescom 2016, Ubisoft tells us all about For Honor, its next Triple A license. Whether it's playable classes, available game modes or the content of the collector's edition of the opus.
On the occasion of Gamescom 2016 Ubisoft did not do in mystery about its next novelty / We learned a lot about For Honor. Starting with its release date on February 14, 2017. But also that its closed Alpha will take place from September 15 to 18 on PC Playstation 4 and Xbox One. You can register here.
Then the 12 heroes that we will be able to play in the game four for each faction were revealed…
…Will be divided into four categories.
- The Vanguards: Balanced heroes in both defense and attack.
- The Assassins: Fast heroes good at fencing and attacking, but fragile.
- The Heavies: Heavy, slow, but powerful and resilient heroes.
- Hybrids: Which as their name suggests will be mixtures of the previous categories, and which according to the developers "encourage unusual tactics"
In addition to these heroes each unique, the player will be able to customize his character by the equipment he finds on the battlefield, and the abilities he will unlock as he plays, via an experience system.
Game modes that for the moment will be limited to Five modes:
- Domination: Where two teams of four players will fight for control of the battlefield
- Melee: Where two teams of two players will fight to defeat the enemy team.
- Duel: Two opponents fight to the death.
- Skirmish: Which corresponds to a deathmatch, in which two teams of four players score points by eliminating members of the enemy team.
- Elimination: A four-on-four where the team of the last survivor wins.
The collector's edition of the game has also been presented, so it contains the following things:
- Gold For Honor Edition: The Complete Game, the Deluxe Edition Digital Deluxe Pack, and the Season Pass.
- An exclusive Collector's Box.
- Three all-metal warrior helmets on a wooden plinth, representing Knights, Vikings and Samurai, all on a one-third scale.
- An exclusive lithograph.
- The game's soundtrack.
Finally, players who pre-order the game will earn three exclusive armors for each faction: the Crusader Guardian, the Sea Serpent Thief and the Kensei Kabuki.
The main criticism of For Honor was the lack of dynamism of its fights, but its detractors might change their minds once the title is in their hands. In any case, Ubisoft does not seem to skimp on the means to highlight their latest foal, a brand of trust and a Gamescom 2016 that has something to reassure.
