24 cities will compete at the Grand Rex in Paris on March 11, 2017, during the Street Fighter V France Cup. Thus, the prestigious theater will welcome the top players of France. They will be ready to fight to defend their colors. The France Street Figther V Cup is an event by Overlook Media and Vivendi, with the participation of Capcom France.
Each team will be represented by 5 players. The captain of each team will be from the city represented. Spectators of the Grand Rex and the various streams will be able to find their favorite players among Red Bull Lufy (2014 World Champion with Street Fighter IV), Will2pac, Alioune, Mister Crimson, CCL and many other representatives. Indeed, 22 of the teamsare already registered. However, there are still two opportunities to qualify for the France Cup:
- February 25, 2017, during the Cannes Winter Clash
- March 5, 2017, during the Meltdown Paris tournament.
Street Fighter V France Cup process:
The matches will take place in the form of relays. Therefore, the winner remains at his position and the loser leaves room for his teammate. In the end, the winning team is the team that eliminated the 5 opposing fighters.
First, the 24 teams will compete in a first round of pool. At the end of this round, the 8 best teams will go to the quarter-finals and advance to the knockout matches.
Finally, the total cash prize in case of victory is € 30,000 !
