After a rather successful release on Xbox One (new best-selling IP at Microsoft) and a more failed one on the Windows Store, Quantum Break offers a Steam release with great fanfare with a unique edition: the Quantum Break Timeless Collector's edition. We take stock with you on its content and presentation. Watch your eyes!
Initially announced at 40 euros, this collector's edition finally offers a definitive release at 29.99 euros at the main retailers including Amazon. PC players benefit from a collector's version while their companions of the One did not. And at this price, it must be said the content is appreciable. Indeed, the Timeless edition includes:
- the game grouped on 5 discs (they are activated via the Steam account)
- The soundtrack
- The making-of on Blu-ray
- Game Manual
- a double-sided A3 poster by Jack Joyce
- The Making-Of Book
Presentation
Well exposed, the collector's edition has a cardboard case with the official jacket, that of Jack Joyce. On the edge, the game box set and the "Making-Of Book" are visible. They are separated by a yellow bookmark (a bookmark), making it easy to remove the book or box containing the discs from the game.
Making-Of Book
The centerpiece of this collector! A small book in notebook format (19cm by 14cm), containing 113 pages. It includes 3 parts: the retrospective of Remedy, the before Quantum Break with Alan Wake and the universe of Quantum Break (its characters, its technology …). All richly illustrated with photos and unpublished artworks. A must for all fans of the game!
The game box set
First divided into two, the box proudly displays the logo of Monarch Solutions and Remedy. By opening it a second time, four compartments are available to us. The first contains the game manual and a double-sided poster. The other three house the game's 5 discs, the soundtrack and the Making-Of. It's very visual and well thought out. Only downside, the difficulty to store the discs especially with the last compartment which contains 3! It is technical and we should be careful not to damage them or lose patience. This is often the problem with boxes that stack discs.
Our opinion
Quantum Break Timeless is an affordable and rather well-presented collector's edition. Ideal for collectors who liked the game or for new players who want to discover it. For a triple A that offers a different experience thanks to crossmedia, the price is not salty and probably deserves to be stopped!
