Bethesda says a little more about the main plot of Prey, the horror FPS developed by Arkane studios on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
It was on a plane, while returning from vacation, that Raphaël Colantonio had the idea of the main lines of Prey's main plot. When we got back to work, a little team meeting was in place, and everything took shape. As a starting point for this space horror FPS, a dystopia where President Kennedy would have survived his assassination attempt in Dallas. Collaboration with the Soviet Union would have been possible, and the conquest of space would have been at the centre of concerns.
It took many months for this fictional chronology to take the most realistic forms possible.Of course, it was also necessary to do a lot of scientific research on specialized fields such as space aeronautics, but also on more esoteric fields such as the paranormal. Particular attention has also been paid to the dialogues.

Despite the creativity of the Arkane studios team, a collaboration was conducted with Chris Avellone, a game designer known for having been one of the co-founders of Obsidian entertainment. He participated in the development of games that have remained in history such as Baldur's Gate or Icewind Dale. A fruitful collaboration since not only did Avellone work on the character of the characters, but he also scripted many side quests. He also insisted on "responsiveness", a key notion that the player's actions and choices must have an immediate impact on the game.

The game will not be devoid of humor. For example, a recurring object in the game placed by a developer had no real use. Raphaël Colantonio comments on this amusing anecdote:
"We almost took him out of the game three times. I even "argued" several times with [chief visual designer] Manu Petit, telling him I never wanted to see this thing again, until we made a joke about it and thought, "What if no one on board the station knew what it was? We're going to stick a weird name on it, like 'synthecube,' and let people talk about it in their emails."
If you want to discover a little more about the universe of Prey, a demo will be available for free on April 27th. The game will be released on PC, PS4 and Xbox One on May 5.
