The PC Gaming Show is probably the least anticipated conference in terms of quality, it is rather expected in terms of boredom, believe us, it is unfortunately not this year that it will catch up. Between DLC, Remasters, and games worthy of a DS, we can not say that we have been spoiled. Nevertheless, some games might be worth a look, so here they are in detail!
Xcom 2 War of the chosen
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n3bENBYSucQ
That's how the PC Gaming Show conference begins, with DLC. This already announces the color, even if it must be recognized that it is not unpleasant to be able to relaunch the excellent XCOM 2 soon, it is a DLC where the Chosen will be the ultimate enemies of your Xcom. Three new alien champions will appear with three new factions to make them skin. This is the biggest expansion for the game, and it will arrive on August 29, 2017 on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
Ooblets
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ee1-SWvdYlI
Ooblets, will probably make you think at first of a joke, we would have expected this game rather on a DS, but it is not. Inspired by the excellent Stardew Valley, this cute and colorful little game could be enjoyed by many players. Well, it is not new, it was announced at the Xbox One conference, it is also an exclusive for the console, which for once will also be available on PC.
Ooblets will be a mix of several games, between gardening (à la Stardew Valley), a kind of capture and fighting of creatures (à la Pokémon) and with many interactions with the villagers (at Animal Crossing), you will not feel too disoriented. But it may not have the spark that will hold everyone's attention. To see in the future, it is currently planned for 2018.
Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YdBpimBzxVM
Mount and Blade II Bannerlord , is no longer to be presented, several battle scenes were shown to us, more or less epic depending on the look of each. Mount and Blade II Bannerlord should nevertheless delight fans of the genre, however no date has been announced, we can say, we remain on our hunger.
Total War: Warhammer II The Battle of the Fallen Gates
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EIPBYxGLd5U
The famous turn-based strategy and real-time tactics game developed by Creative Assembly is expected to arrive on September 28, 2017, special editions have also been presented. We won't have long to wait to find out, this mission already reveals enough about what awaits us!
Shadowverse: Wonderland Dreams
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sF01KZIRbtE
Shadowverse is like a Hearthstone, a card game. Some even call it the poor man's Hearthstone, and yet the developers have just announced an extension that will arrive on PC, iOS, and Android. Wonderland Dream will be available on June 29, 2017 and will feature over 100 new maps and unique new mechanics will be implemented. Something to delight fans of card games that are more strategic than we think!
Tunic
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wVkQhYATXlw
Tunic is the cute game (in my opinion) of this conference, and which will be noticeably reminiscent of a Zelda-like, well this is a fox, we do not know if it is any nod to Firefox, but the game will be available on PC. The world of Tunic is colorful, and if it looks like a game that would fit perfectly to the DS, we can not be sure however that it will compete with our good old and iconic license of Nintendo. It is expected in 2018.
PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fezKaCu9_JY
PlayerUnknown's Battleground, the new hype that all streamers on Twitch are snapping up lately. This is a Battle Royale for those who do not know. You are 100, and you must be the last survivor (alone or in a team) to win, simple principle and yet more complicated than expected. The game is of course not yet in its final edition, and even if it is currently a hit, it is rather strange to find it in this conference. It must be said that the game being in full development, nothing sensational has really been announced, except to be able to climb avoiding making improbable jumps that most of the time will require a legendary skill, especially if the server lags take advantage of it to troll you. Obviously the weather may change in the middle of the game, new weapons will appear, in short, nothing transcendent, for an E3 where we are supposed to announce new licenses or future games…
Killing Floor Incursion & The Summer SidesHow
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cLLVFm4QzdY
VR, and a new event that will allow you to get additional content. We are delighted.
Ylands
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BEud5AUdY24
Ylands is the next game from Bohemia interactive (creator of ARMA), you will play as a character who will have to survive in a hostile world. You will tell me, it is seen and reviewed, however, there will obviously be many crafts, like a Sandbox where everything could be possible. The graphics are very specific and the style will probably not be unanimous, however, a level editor will be available and the humor seems to be at the rendezvous, perhaps its imminent release (summer 2017) on Steam can conquer some players wishing to embark on the adventure?
Griftlands
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XGA4IbJGKhk
Griftlands is perhaps the title to remember from this conference, developed by Klei, the creators of the famous Don't Starve, we can only imagine good when it comes to them. It should come in the form of an RPG, with combat and thoughtful storytelling… The trailer makes us think of a Banner Saga on many points, in any case, all this seems promising enough to hope for a game that is out of the ordinary. With this studio, surprises are not lacking! The launch date seems rather unclear, between a late 2017 and early 2018, we will probably have more precision in the coming weeks/months.
LawBreakers
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vXdkJ4gkGzI
LawBreakers should arrive on August 8 on PC and PS4, several beta phases will arrive at the end of June (June 28 and 30), this FPS will bet a lot on eSports. This time it is presented in a more dynamic way than in previous trailers, LawBreakers can create the surprise at its release!
Wargroove
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mDXsDKBw1ag
Wargroove looks more like a level editor than a game, but obviously the possibilities are numerous, local and online multiplayer will be available, as well as a campaign, unlockable characters and much more. Not only planned on PC, you will have the opportunity to discover it on Xbox One and Switch at the end of the year.
Age of Empire: Definitive Edition
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LcEM2yZ7Qvc
Take it easy! Because it is unfortunately ONLY a remaster. For the 20th anniversary, they decided to update with lots of new features and of course graphics revised upwards (as much as possible) the first Age of Empire. Particularly fan of this license, I must admit to being disappointed. A new opus would have raised the level of this conference which lasted not far from 2 hours for very few nuggets.
Concerning Forza Motosport 7, Sea of Thieves, Shadow of War and The Last Night, nothing new, the games having already been presented at Microsoft conferences. To learn more do not hesitate to take a look at our report!
