Friday, May 15, the multinational Nintendo decided to sue resellers of software for the Switch. Indeed, the Japanese giant has filed two complaints against illegal distributors. The latter offered a module that allowed you to play pirated games. The real subject of the complaints: " illegal resale of a tool to circumvent console protections and take advantage of unauthorized copies [of works]".

A threat that Nintendo is strongly facing

The first complaint is addressed to the webmaster of the Uberchips site. The second is for the hacker group called Team Xecuter. Nintendo is fed up with this team of hackers who allow themselves to bypass the protection measures of the Switch. By doing this, hackers can launch pirated games with the alternative operating system. In both cases, Nintendo initially requested the definitive cessation of these illegal operations. To date, Uberchips no longer exists and even offers to refund the modules that its customers had reimbursed. Nevertheless, we see that other sites carry out "shady" approaches. The latter offer, for example, a kit for less than fifty euros that allows you to hack the Switch. Nintendo is also seeking damages of $2500 per circumvention made possible . 4877 Nintendo is suing Switch pirates! You should know that Nintendo announced not long ago another form of piracy. Since the beginning of April, hackers have managed to log into 160,000 accounts. These hackers had access to personal information such as email address, date of birth or banking data if they were linked to the account. However, they could not extract them. To remedy this, Nintendo has indicated a reset of all passwords that may have been impacted. In addition, the company encourages its users to enable two-factor authentication.
