While the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) opens its doors today, Nintendo is the latest developer / publisher / manufacturer to go to the pot in the big pundits of the video game, since the other entities preferred to make their announcements before the launch of the show!

As for several years, the Japanese firm has abandoned the live conference format to offer a pre-recorded video, the Nintendo Direct, which, this year, focused exclusively on the Nintendo Switch, proof is that the 3DS family has fallen by the wayside even for them!

Daemon X Machina

The conference begins with a previously unknown novelty with Deamon X Machina. A game à la Gundam, which offers robot combat on a background of electro-metal music under Unreal Engine developed by Marvelous Entertainment and First Studio! The title is dated for 2019 without further details, but we assume that we will have time to come back to it soon enough!

Xenoblade Chronicles 2

The live stream continues with Xenoblade Chronicles 2 which returns to the front of the stage with new content. A DLC named Torna – The Golden Country is a prequel to the game, and it offers you to follow the adventures of Jin, Mythra and Malhos. Available on September 14, 2018, this DLC is included in the game's season pass, but it looks like a boxed version will also be available for this content if you prefer!

Pokemon Let's go (Pikachu and Eevee)

Announced a few days ago, Pokemon Let's go quickly returns during this live to announce a small detail. The opportunity for Nintendo to highlight the Pokéball Plus, object related to the next opus but totally dispensable. Nevertheless, Nintendo seems to have a strong argument to encourage you to checkout, since the Pokeball Plus will allow you to acquire the legendary Pokémon Mew!

Super Mario Party

Despite the insiders, it seems that Nintendo still manages to keep some secrets up its sleeve. The Nintendo Switch, always highlighted as a family console, has a new multiplayer opus with the announcement of Super Mario Party. Scheduled for October 5, 2018, the game will resume the principle of the game of the goose where you will progress via mini-games.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses

Announced by Nintendo for 2018, the new opus of Fire Emblem is finally unveiled. Named Three Houses, the new game from Intelligent System mixing strategy and turn-based will finally arrive in spring 2019!

Fortnite Battle Royale

Surely one of the most anticipated third-party licenses, Fortnite finally confirms its arrival on Nintendo Switch, and imminently! Indeed, the game of Epic Games that continues to unleash the crowds on the web will integrate the hybrid console of Nintendo tonight (12/06/2018), at 23h! Moreover, to silence all rumors, Epic Games confirms that it will be the same version of the game currently available on PC, PS4, X Box One and mobile.

Overcooked 2

After the success of the first opus, Overcooked returns for a second episode! Team 17, in charge of development, confirms that its game will be released on all consoles including the Nintendo Switch on August 7, 2018.

Killer Queen Black

A real Eldorado for indie games, the Nintendo Switch often highlights some of the most modest titles. This is the case of Killer Queen Black which mixes action, strategy, and arcade in a retro graphic style planned for the year 2018.

Hollow Knight

Announced for this year, Hollow Knight released in 2017 on PC was slow to show itself on Nintendo Switch. Today the Team Cherry studio in charge of this metroidvania does better, since it announces the immediate availability of the title on the e-shop!

Octopath Traveler

Dated for July 13, Octopath Traveler, the exclusive Nintendo Switch game developed by Square-Enix makes a new focus a month before its release. After a first demo unveiled in 2017, introducing 2 of the 8 main characters of the adventure, the team in charge of the opus will offer a new playable version from June 14. This will include an introduction for the 8 protagonists (so 6 new ones), whose data can be transferred to the final version of the game if you buy it!

Super Smash Bros Ultimate

New Smash? Deluxe Edition of the Wii u Version? The star of this Nintendo Direct is undoubtedly this new episode of the franchise. Announced during the last Nintendo Direct, many questions remained unanswered, and Nintendo wanted to answer its fans as well as possible! Maybe a little too much? We can wonder since on the conference of the Japanese firm of 42 minutes, we quantify 25 just for Super Smash Bros Ultimate. Dated for the month of December, the fighting game will be released after the implementation of Nintendo Switch Online, but will certainly be a sales force for the holiday season!

The absentees?

If rumors or leaks announced Star Fox Grand Prix, or Metroid Prime 4 and Bayonetta 3, we note that these titles are absent from this live. More worryingly, Yoshi, teased since 2017 and announced by Nintendo for a release in 2018 with a video trailer has been completely forgotten. Can we deduce that its development is stalling and that we will not see it before the new year? Probably, because it's hard to believe that it will be released in the next six months… What about the next Animal Crossing or Shin Megami Tensei? Soon we hope!

The last word

Nintendo is reassuring its fans and customers with the confirmation that this Super Smash Bros is indeed a new opus, and its very loaded content seems to delight more than one. Nevertheless, the fact that this game has taken a very/too important part of this live will frustrate more than one. We still feel that third-party and independent publishers are providing more and more support to the console as its line-up is strengthening day by day. The summer promises to be quite busy with the release of titles like Ys 8, Octopath Traveler, Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate, Go Vacation, Crash Bandicoot or Wolfenstein II, and if the return to school looks rather calm for the moment, the steamroller will resume for the end of the year with Super Mario Party, Pokemon Let's go and Super Smash Bros Ultimate !

You will find the entire Nintendo Direct in video right here !
