2K has just lifted the veil on the evolution of the NBA 2K franchise with the introduction of the first open environment: the neighborhood.
To do this, the development team has taken the most beloved elements of NBA 2K, namely MyPARK, Pro-Am and MaCARRIERE and spread them in a shared world allowing you to fully follow the life of an NBA athlete, on and off the court.
Greg Thomas, President of Visual Concepts said, "We've elevated the NBA 2K experience by putting players at the center of a fully immersive environment that they can explore, build relationships in, and most importantly compete. We can't wait to see what the future implications will be for the brand, and starting September 15 to see fans take charge of NBA 2K18."
"The Neighborhood" is a mode without equivalent at present in any career mode of a sports game. My PLAYER evolves in a neighborhood with different places to visit, others My PLAYER to interact with. Experiences and ratings are related to the actions of the player, in everyday life. The user experience is based on how you conduct the competition, allowing you to earn a few rewards of how you enjoy the most.

OBJECTIVE 99 is also introduced, it is a meta-game rewarding users by improving the general rating of My PLAYER, so the chosen game mode is no longer taken into account in this rating. A system of badges across the different modes is set up, so attributes, animations and badges all help define your playstyle on the way to Objective 99.
As a reminder, from September 8, the "Prelude" of NBA 2K18 will be available for free on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One allowing you to start your CAREER, as we presented it here. NBA 2K18, developed by Visual Concepts, has received the PEGI+3 rating and will be available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3, Xbox One and Xbox 360, Nintendo Switch (digital version) and PC from September 15. The physical version of NBA 2K18 on Nintendo Switch will be available on October 17, 2017.
