Failing to see Monster Hunter World ported to Switch, Westerners will be able to enjoy Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate this summer!
While Monster Hunter XX had been canceled for the West, Capcom seems to have changed its mind since it announces today its release for August 28, 2018. Like Monster Hunter X renamed Monster Hunter Generations, it changes its name to Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate. An improved version of Monster Hunter Generations released on 3DS family systems, this opus was released in March 2017 on 3DS in Japan and in August 2017 on Nintendo Switch. On the New side, two new play styles will be added to the 4 already existing: the alchemist style (who will fight with objects that he will concoct during the fights) and the valiant style (which favors combos). We will also note a new quest rank, the G rank to meet once again the monsters who have gained in range of movements, but also new abilities.
Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate will allow interaction with the 3DS Monster Hunter Generations version available since 2016 in Europe, since you will be able to load your save data into the Switch version, in order to continue your adventure.
On the multiplayer side, know that Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate can be played locally for up to 4 players, but also online with players of the Monster Hunter Generations 3DS versions.
Side graphic resolution, the game will run in 1080p in TV mode, and in 720p in portable and tabletop mode.
If Monster Hunter World is highly requested on Switch by the fanbase of the license, Westerners will have at least a new opus to get their hands on. The graphic quality of Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate is certainly less impressive, but it is closer to the original episodes of the series on the gameplay side. We will also note the pleasant surprise of being able to play with the players of Monster Hunter Generations, which will give a second life to the title for owners of 3DS in need of novelty in recent months.
