The largest video game show in France will not take place this year. The announcement was made on the official Twitter account of Paris Games Week.

Dear players, It is with great emotion that we have made the difficult decision to cancel Paris Games Week, originally scheduled for October 23 to 27, 2020 and which marked our10th anniversary. The current context and the necessary anticipation of the technical and logistical complexities of an event such as Paris Games Week force us to cancel this edition. This year had to be special, due to a very rich news and an anniversary edition that we were looking forward to celebrating with you. We will work with all industry players so that this year 2020 remains an opportunity to continue to live together our passion and are preparing now the most beautiful edition for our reunion next year. See you soon, the Paris Games Week team.

Due to the Covid-19 crisis, many festivals and fairs around the world had to close their doors this year. The E3 in Los Angeles and even the mythical Comic-Con in San Diego have not escaped either. Fans had hope: the tenth edition of the PGW was scheduled for October 23 to 27. Remember that more than 200,000 people were expected at Porte de Versailles. Between the difficulties of organization and the strong uncertainty concerning the opening of the show, the SELL (Union of Leisure Software Publishers) preferred to cancel the event. An understandable decision that delays the anniversary by a small year. As they say, better late than never.
