Ubisoft has just announced that Tom Clancy's The Division Update 1.7 is available, for free, on Xbox One, Playstation® 4 and PC.
Update 1.7 is the first of two major updates planned for this second year of existence. Year 2, which has already received significant gameplay updates, will be rich in various tweaks and improvements. Let's focus on some points of this update:
- Global Events – A new event system is implemented allowing players to play differently through activities with gameplay changes, in limited time. These regularly available global events will offer exclusive rewards to players. These can be increased by adding various additional content during certain missions. The first started on August 15th at 8pm and will end on August 22nd.
- Recommendations– These are the old "exploits", this new success system offers a greater number of missions and therefore rewards.
- Encrypted caches – These are loot boxes containing different customization elements and random emotes. You can get these Caches by finding keys in The Division, or by purchasing premium credits.
- New equipment and customization options – New masks and patches are available, as are classified equipment kits. You can change the appearance of your agent by going to the Barber for free.
- Survival DLC Enhancements – Thanks to the new equipment available, you can achieve higher scores than before. The rewards have been reworked so that the investment in playing time is proportional to other activities.
The Survival expansion is available for free this weekend, from Friday, August 18 at 3:00 p.m. until Sunday, August 20 at 9:00 p.m. During this time, you will be able to discover a whole new way to play thanks to the Survival mode. This game mode will be able to accommodate up to 24 players where agents will have to survive the hostile environment, as well as other agents and hunters, all without any equipment ! You will have to find everything, equipment, warm clothes, etc … to hope to get out of the Dark Zone, plunged into the blizzard!
This expansion is part of Tom Clancy's The Division Season Pass and can also be purchased separately. Finally, still during this free weekend, the Standard and Gold editions of the game will be on sale, as well as the Season Pass and standalone expansions.
