The name Harry Potter isn't going to die anytime soon. And for the sake of it. By 2019, a new game themed around the bespectacled wizard will be available on mobile. The first trailer for Harry Potter: Wizards Unite has just been released.

The Harry Potter saga may be over, but fans are no less outdone. Derivatives, books and video games continue to keep the license alive. And speaking of video games, it is precisely in this category that Potterheads will find their happiness. A first teaser of the game Harry Potter: Wizards Unite has been unveiled.

The wizarding world in danger

The trailer is quite short but it is enough to expose the context. In an empty alley, a young woman appears as if by magic and immobilizes a wandering Golden Quick. Once the object is caught, it materializes a poster on a wall and then disappears. "The wizarding world is in danger of being discovered. We need your help " says the paper. No doubt, this message is for Harry Potter enthusiasts. They will see it as an opportunity to discover a new game based on the world of witchcraft.

A Pokémon Go for wizards

Niantic struck again. After having met with great success with the game Pokémon Go on mobile, the developer is embarking on a new challenge. That of bringing together aficionados of the universe created by J.K. Rowling with an augmented reality game. Although no gameplay has been revealed, there is a good chance that Harry Potter: Wizards Unite will use the same mechanic as its predecessor. Thanks to a geolocation system, gamers will be able to explore their city and surroundings to "discover and defeat legendary animals". The game will also allow you to learn spells and form groups with other players to fight enemies according to Niantic.

The mobile game, due out in 2019, will be the second dedicated to the wizarding world. After Harry Potter: Secret at Hogwarts, fans will now be able to hunt for magical animals for real. Well, almost!
