EA Sports has just revealed who will be on the cover of its annual FIFA 17 football simulation.
EA Sports had left the choice to the fans. They had to vote for the player they would like to see on the FIFA 17 cover. We told you about it recently, the French Anthony Martial was then in the race to appear on the cover of the 2017 version of the EA Football simulation. Fans had to choose between Anthony Martial of Manchester United , but also James Rodriguez of Real Mardid, Marco Reus of Borussia Dortmund or Eden Hazard of Chelsea.
For two weeks, fans were able to vote 3.1 million times for their favorite player. In the end, it is Marco Reus who will appear on the cover of FIFA 17. The latter is considered one of the best wingers in Europe and has an impressive track record. He has already been capped 29 times for the German national team and was voted the best German player in 2012. Since then, he has become the captain of the Borussia Dortmund team.
Nick Channon, Senior Producer of FIFA 17, said: "It's amazing to see all the support from users for their favourite player. Marco plays for a big club, he's fun to watch play and he's very popular in FIFA Ultimate Team. That's certainly why he was chosen." Marco Reus said:
"It's an honour for me to join such a prestigious group of players and appear on the FIFA cover. But above all, I am touched to have been chosen by the fans. I will do everything to make them proud by performing well on the pitch."
As a reminder, FIFA 17 will be available on September 29 on PC via Origin, PS4, PS3, Xbox One and Xbox 360.
