Echo is first and foremost a story of clones and even more an action and puzzle game based on the way you play. The player takes on the role of En (voiced by Rose Leslie), a space traveler who wakes up after a century of stasis and has a love-hate relationship with London, an intelligent spaceship (aka Nick Boulton: Mass Effect and Dragon Age). In space, the two allies will discover a special structure that is The Palace. When En arrives, The Palace will trigger its defenses and prevent you from discovering its secrets.
The Palace will study everything En will do and create doubles from the appearance of the young woman. If they are non-threatening at first, they will quickly want to fight. These echoes will learn from the way you play and they will not hesitate to use this against you.
Echo is an evolving game, constantly on the move. If you're the stealth type, so will your doubles. Conversely, if you rush into the pile, they will attack first. Your salvation could come from a blackout. The Palace needs to update its clones, giving you a little respite. But once it's online again, your enemies will be much more determined.
Don't forget, in Echo, your most formidable enemy is yourself!
