Watchmen is a series broadcast in 2019 in France on the OCS channel. On the occasion of Juneteenth, it is put online on the platform free of charge until Sunday! The Watchmen series has the particularity of echoing racism and police violence, which are topical themes following the murder of George Floyd. Juneteenth is also called Freedom Day, it is an American holiday commemorating the abolition of slavery in the South of the United States (Confederate South) and more precisely in Texas. The American channel HBO has decided to put online, on this symbolic day in the United States, season 1 of Watchmen. A series created by Damon Lindelof, creator of Lost and The Leftovers, and adapted from the comics of Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons.

It is a superhero series in which masked avengers fight their enemies. The move follows the emergence of a group of white supremacists who attacked police officers in a city. This story refers to the drama that took place in Tulsa in 1921. A massacre where Americans attacked African-American residents of a neighborhood of the city as well as their businesses. The Watchmen series was particularly appreciated by critics and still reflects sadly current events. Despite this success, no sequel is planned for now.
