While the eighth season of The Walking Dead is currently in full winter break, some information is circulating on the web about the end of contract of actress Lauren Cohan, who plays Maggie Greene.
So, info or hoax? It seems that the contract that binds actress Lauren Cohan to AMC ends during the eighth season, current. She is currently in negotiations with the network to extend her contract for a ninth season and possibly beyond.
According to the American site Deadline, Lauren Cohan would have asked for a salary increase to approach the level of Andrew Lincoln (Rick) and Norman Reedus (Daryl).
Emblematic character by her strength and courage, Maggie Greene occupies a central place in the current plot of The Walking Dead (it is she who now leads the community of the Hill), but also for several seasons (since her appearance in season 2 to tell the truth). So it seems incredible that Maggie disappears from the most well-known post-apocalyptic landscape of the small screen.
Be careful, if you have not seen the last episodes before the break, do not read on!
If she were to leave the series, Lauren Cohan would closely follow actor Lennie James, aka Morgan Jones, who, as expected, leaves TWD at the end of the current season 8 to join the cast of season 4 of Fear The Walking Dead, the spin-off series. This departure would also follow that of actor Chandler Riggs, who plays Carl, and who will be found for his last appearance on February 25, for the resumption of the second part of season 8. Episode 9 will be available the next day in France on OCS.
And you, what do you think of this announced departure? We let you meditate in front of the most recent teaser of the mid-season resumption.
