A new record for The Walking Dead? While we have just discovered the season premiere of the series The Walking Dead, controversial for some, rejoicing for others, has the series shattered its audience record?
And the answer is… NO! But it played out a little something, since the episode The day will come when you won't be, broadcast on Sunday, October 23 on the American channel AMC gathered no less than 17 million viewers, including 11 on the only target of 18-49 years. Since its creation, the series has beaten this figure only once, on the occasion of the season premiere of season 5 in October 2014.
This episode was a direct sequel to the season 6 finale, which saw the arrival of a new character and ended with the death of one of Rick's group members, without the viewers knowing his identity.
Suffice to say that the episode was expected by fans! Excellent ratings that announce a positive sequel for season 7 which will consist of 16 episodes, divided into two parts as every year, one in the fall and the other in early spring.
We also announced that the series was renewed for an eighth season, still long hours in front of the small screen!
