After the success of Big Little Lies, HBO and creator and writer David E. Kelley, bets on a new breathless series The Undoing, and team up again with Nicole Kidman.

By the creators of Big Little Lies, and the director of Bird Box

It is one of the series events of this end of the year: The Undoing finally arrives on the small screen after many reprogramming due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The story of the series is adapted from Jean Hanff Korelitz's novel First Impressions (2014) and tells the story of Grace Sachs, a successful New York therapist who is about to publish her first book. Her loving husband is a pediatric oncologist and together they have a teenager who attends a prestigious private school. A busy and happy social life with exemplary looks, where everything smiles on the couple, until the day when a tragedy will upset their routine. This tragedy is the sudden death of a woman from Grace's social circle, which will shake up the bliss present in the life of her family. A nightmare that invites others: the husband disappears and terrible revelations surface. The series is directed by Danish Susanne Bier (Bird Box, The Night Manager), and written by Big Little Lies triumph writer David E. Kelley, who stage a high-flying cast. Nicole Kidman is the first of many. She plays the lead role of Grace, and her husband, Jonathan, is played by the no less famous Hugh Grant. At their side, actress Lily Rabe, famous for her roles in American Horror Story , puts on the costume of Sylvia Steinetz, a friend of Grace Sachs. Comedian Noma Dumezweni plays a lawyer named Haley Gibson, and Matilda De Angelis plays Elena Alves.

The theme song sung by… Nicole Kidman!

And you are not at the end of your surprises. The mini-series in 6 episodes, opens each episode with intriguing credits on the famous song Dream a Little Dream of Me. A must signed Ozzie Nelson in 1931 and since taken over by Ella Fitzgerald, Doris Day or Nicole Kidman herself. Indeed, it is the Australian actress who interprets the song of the credits: a "crucial detail" for the director Susanne Bier. Interviewed by our colleagues at Allociné, the filmmaker admits, however: "Nicole Kidman did not want to at first, then she finally accepted. And I think she enjoyed the experience." Note that the series is offered by the OCS platform in France, which publishes one episode per week. 60 minutes breathless around a social drama and a police investigation, which will reveal a frightening tension and mystery.
