Season 2 of The Politician , featuring a young politician, is available since June 19 on Netflix. Despite differing opinions, the series could well have an additional season.
"We'd probably like to do three seasons in total"
Season 1 of The Politician from Netflix took us into the corridors of San Sebastián High School. Payton Hobart, played by Ben Platt, was in the running to become the new student president of his university. The second season, offered on the streaming giant, followed his new ambitions for New York City. As he tried to topple former incumbent Dede Standish (Judith Light) in the state Senate race. In an interview with Collider, Ryan Murphy said:
"I think for me, for this show, I'd like to do it (a season 3), and I think all of us involved, would probably like to do three seasons in total."
But according to him, if this third component were to exist, it would not be for now. The director would like to take a few years off to make sure that "Ben Platt ages a little for his last race". And when we talk about a scenario, he expresses no doubt: " It would obviously be a presidential race, right? ».
It will therefore be necessary to wait several years to discover the Payton Hobart indulge in the greatest ambition of his political career. Fortunately, we won't have to wait that long to view Ryan Murphy's new projects.
