Released on October 12, 2018, season 1 of The Haunting of Hill Housand adapted from the novel The Haunted House by Shirley Jackson, moved us just as well as chilled the blood.
First series directed by Mike Flanagan, a follower of the genre who has many horror/thriller films to his credit, such as Jessie and Doctor Sleep, adaptations of the works of Stephen King.
After a successful Season 1, Netflix has kicked off filming for Season 2 in Vancouver, which was completed in February 2020.
Still in the hands of Flanagan, The Haunting of Bly Manor, will welcome again actors from the first season.
We will meet Victoria Pedretti (Eleanor Crain), Henry Thomas (Hugh Crain), Olivier Jackson-Cohen (Luke Crain) and Kate Siegel (Theodora Crain).
They will play new characters linked to the Bly family, the owners of a haunted mansion where ghosts chase a young woman hired as a governess. New faces will join this season, which will welcome Rahul Kohli (iZombie), T'Nia Miller (Obey), Amelia Eve, Benjamin Ainsworth and Amelie Smith.
This time, it will not be a classic sequel because this season will be partly adapted from Henry James' Nut Tower .
Flanagan's word:
"The things I have access to, and that the other adaptations of The Nut Tower, didn't have is the rest of Henry James' ghost stories. And I'm going to use them all. Everything will be linked thematically. For me, Le Tour d'Écrou is the backbone of this season. That is the line we follow from start to finish. We will also be interested in the Pleasant Corner and many other incredible stories that no one has ever seen adapted."
This season 2 promises to be colorful and twists with the returns of the actors of Hill House. Lovers of horror and other joys, we look forward to seeing you soon, for more thrills.
