Star Trek is a franchise still in operation, started in 1966 with a first series. In 2017, we should discover the latest, Star Trek Discovery, developed by Bryan Fuller, to whom we owe Dead Like Me or Hannibal. But…

Scheduled for May 2017 on CBS All Access, the channel's VOD platform, Star Trek Discovery, the sixth live series in the franchise, is currently in full development. But today, the machine seems to grind to a halt with the departure of its showrunner, Bryan Fuller.

And it is simply a problem of schedule that is the cause! The CBS producers said in a statement:

"Bryan has other plans besides Star Trek Discovery. It is therefore difficult for him to follow the progress of the file on a day-to-day basis."

They also say of the quality of Bryan Fuller's work:

"We are extremely pleased with the artistic direction taken by Star Trek Discovery. And that's thanks to Bryan Fuller and the solid foundation he built to help us create the series."

This does not mean that Bryan Fuller leaves the project permanently, he remains executive producer, which will allow him to develop the story arcs of the entire season!

No one has yet been announced to replace him, hoping that this delay does not also lead to a delay in the broadcast of the series, which is due to arrive in May 2017 on CBS All Access, and in France through Netflix.
