While actor Nathan Fillion, who played Richard Castle , has just joined the sitcom Modern Family as a recurring, we were still without news of Stana Katic, his sidekick for eight seasons. Today, it is in a new police series, Absentia, that we will be able to find the actress for a broadcast scheduled for 2017.

Stana Katic will play a policewoman in this thriller by Matt Cirulnick, to whom we owe South Beach. Oded Ruskin, known for the Israeli series False Flag, will direct all ten episodes of the series.

The story will begin as she pursues a notorious serial killer in Boston before disappearing without a trace and being declared dead. Six years later, she is found in a cabin in the woods, barely alive and with no memories of the years that have just passed. She returns home to discover that her husband has rebuilt a life with another woman who has raised her son. She was also soon involved in a new series of murders.

Sony Pictures Television is responsible for distribution in the United States and in the rest of the world, it is the subsidiary AXN that will broadcast the series in the countries where the channel is available. This series does not benefit from a pilot but goes directly into production, waiting to be bought by a channel.

Filming of Absentia will begin in early 2017 for a broadcast normally scheduled for the same year.
