Not feeling the same apprehension, Benedict Cumberbatch who plays Sherlock Holmes, finds it heartbreaking the inability of Freeman to get the upper hand on the demands of the fans. He even goes so far as to describe his sidekick's grievances as "pathetic". This gives a slight glimpse of the atmosphere between the two actors.
With tensions emerging and Freeman's lack of enthusiasm, the prospect of a season 5 is in question. Knowing that the rest of the series has, to date, always been neither confirmed nor denied.
