Released on May 28, Panic is the new series from Amazon Prime Video to see. Wishing to project her successful novel "Panic, the game of fear" on the big screen, Lauren Oliver has donned the hat of director to adapt it to the seventh art. The nightmarish picture painted by the series is astonishingly captivating. It allows us to bond affection with the protagonists to the point of wishing to see our favorite win the competition. Panic can boast of being one of the binge-watcher series during the summer. To watch without moderation!

A series halfway between Nerve and The Hunger Games

Set in the small town of Cape Town, Texas, the plot revolves around young graduates who are looking for a new life. Deeply desperate at the idea of ending their lives in this isolated village, some decide as every year to participate in the Panic game, organized illegally by members of the city. No one knows who is behind this, or what the different steps will be to follow to become the big winner. However, they all know one thing: the game is close to death, plays on the deepest fears of each one to choose only a winner who will win a substantial sum. The increasingly deadly trials aim to eliminate the 46 players one by one and keep only one. In summary, Panic is the descent into hell of the ex-high school students of Cap. In every way, this series reminds us of the film Nerve by Ariel Schulman and Henry Joost and the tetralogy Hunger Games by Francis Lawrence. A fair mix between these two masterpieces of American cinema, Panic takes up the idea of each other's fierce fight to finish victorious. To the point where everyone is willing to kill each other in hopes of being the person who will walk the finish line. Also, we find the traits of the film Nerve with this idea of increasingly risky or even deadly challenges decided and controlled by anonymous judges. These judges can be strangers as well as family and friends of the players. Thus, the series has decided to mix the two universes to offer us content that makes us addicted. Each episode is dedicated to a thematic challenge, taking away the desire to stop. Plan to swallow all ten episodes in one go! @ FR_tmdb

A very promising cast

One might think that the director chose actors little known in the world of cinema. And yet, these actors have each made their debut in recent years and already have big projects to come. Olivia Welch who plays the main heroine is announced in a horror movie that will be released this year. Mike Faist (Dodge Mason) has landed a role in the upcoming West Side Story directed by "The Entertainment King", Stephen Spielberg. Jessica Sula (Nathalie Williams) meanwhile, does not yet have a project announced. However, she has already played in several films and series such as Scream, Godless, Lucifer or Split. Finally, the mysterious and tortured boy is played by Ray Nicholson, Jack Nicholson's son. If the actor does not have a tempting track record at the moment, it goes without saying that we can already imagine him climbing to the top of success in the years to come. Especially since his perfectly mastered role in the series will undoubtedly be talked about. The next generation is assured! @FR_tmdb

A second season to come?

We currently have no information to confirm the existence of a season two. However, we can still assume that there will be one. Between the positive feedback and the end of the season with a new plot, it is difficult to imagine that the fate of the protagonists will end here. It is hoped to see a new season appear on Amazon Prime Video by 2022.
